Are you looking to upgrade your current vest or just getting into Turkey hunting? Here are some Alps Turkey Vest that are worth considering. From the traditional style vest like the Super Elite 4.0 to the sit-anywhere Grand Slam, Alps has a variety of Turkey hunting vests to choose from.

All of the ALPS hunting vests incorporates a silent box call pockets. A “silent box call pocket” works by sliding the box call paddle into its own pocket, separating it from the box and preventing accidental noises.

ALPS OutdoorZ Grand Slam Turkey Vest

The ALPS Grand Slam Turkey Vest is one of the most feature-rich turkey vests out there. The most notable feature is its kickstand frame. This “sit-anywhere” adjustable frame allows you to take a comfortable seat anywhere in the turkey woods, no tree required. With adjustable, fast locking legs, and large swivel feet, uneven terrain or soft mud won’t be a problem. Whether hunting Rio’s in the Mesquite trees of Texas or Osceola’s in Florida, you will inevitably find yourself without a comfy tree to rest your back on. This is when you prop the legs out on the Grand Slam vest and make the best bushes available for your hideout. With a comfortable position, you might just have the extra patience needed to bag that Long-beard. If not, you can always check your phone through the integrated sleeve that allows you to use it while still in the pocket.

If you happen to be hunting areas where you may not need the kickstand frame, it is removable and shaves 2.5lbs. off the weight of the vest.

The Grand Slam has more than enough pockets for calls, five shell loops, and large blood-proof game bag. The seat is a generous 2.5″ thick and folds away.

You’ll have plenty of room for water on even the warmest turkey hunts. The ALPS Grand Slam hunting vest is H2O compatible and also sports two side/water bottle pockets.

All the features do come with a downside. The standard vest comes in at 7.1lbs, or 4.6lbs without fame. This is before you load the more dozen-plus pockets with calls, water, and other gear. It also comes with a decent price tag, MSRP 169.99, but isn’t too bad considering the features.

The ALPS Grand Slam Turkey Vest is great for Hunters:

  • with lots of calls and gear
  • wanting a vest that supports a water bladder
  • hunting areas with a lack of substantial trees for resting against

ALPS OutdoorZ Long Spur and Long Spur Deluxe

The ALPS OudoorZ Long Spur is a great Run N Gun Turkey Hunting Vest. The game bag folds up into a pocket at the top of the back. This allows more airflow on your back for those warmer days. The removable chest pockets include two slate call pockets, five shell loops, two mesh diaphragm call pockets, a silent box call pocket, and locator call pockets.

It’s also a versatile piece of gear that can be modified for small game and deer hunting. Remove the chest pockets and shoulder harness and use the 500ci lumbar pack for whitetail hunting. Leave off the chest pockets and keep the shoulder harness with a game bag for small game hunting.

I’d recommend upgrading to the deluxe and getting the removable, thick-padded memory foam seat. That is, unless you’re just heading to a ground blind and already have a hunting chair. It does bring the weight to 4.25lbs from 3lbs., but it’s well worth it for the extra thirty bucks.

ALPS OutdoorZ Super Elite 4.0 Turkey Hunting Vest

The Super Elite 4.0 is ALPS traditional turkey hunting vest. Although traditional type vests are less breathable than some open designs, the Super Elite uses mesh panels throughout to promote breathability. With 22 pockets you’re sure to have enough room for your calls, but know there are no specific shell holders. Pockets include two slate, three strikers, a silent box call, two diaphragms, and a cell phone pocket. The 2.5-inch thick seat is comfortable, but removable if not needed. This is a pretty lightweight vest at 3.1lbs.

ALPS OutdoorZ Impact Standard and Youth Turkey Hunting Vest

The ALPS Impact vest is more of a traditional Turkey hunting vest. It features a flip up seat, a built in game bag with a bonus pocket for decoy stakes and removable front pocket with shoulder strap for run and gun hunts. Pockets include a two-slate pocket, silent box call pocket, five shell loops and three diaphragm pockets.

One great thing I like about the Impact vest is the offering in a small size. This makes it a great option for youth hunters or smaller individuals who find most vest just a little too big. The small size comes in at 3.25lbs. and the standard at 4.25
